Diliman Prep student is taekwondo best player
The Diliman Prep Taekwondo Varsity Grade School girls team won over-all champion in the Novice category at the recently-concluded 2010 SMART National Taekwondo Championships held July 31 and Aug 1, 2010 Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Adding to the glory were the awards bestowed upon Amber Acosta (5-Mayon) as Best Player, and Coach Nap Dagdagan Jr. as Best Coach.
The Taekwondo Varsity Grade School girls team is composed of Amber Acosta, Julia Cruz, Lian Terrado, and Tricia Villanueva.
Meanwhile, the Taekwondo High School Boys Varsity won 2nd runner-up, also in the Novice category. Team members are Gregorio Murillo, Teobel Ramos, Jasper Guanio, and Joshua Magsino.
The 2010 SMART National Taekwondo Championships was participated in by some 380 taekwondo schools and chapters nationwide including Ateneo, Claret School, UE, UST, La Salle, Miriam, UP, Don Bosco as well as schools from Bulacan, Cebu, General Santos, Bacolod, and Baguio City.
Parents of our varsity members came to watch and support the team. The tourney started at 9 am on July 31 and finished at 11 pm. The second day, August 1, started at 9am and finished 12:30 midnight.
